Brunchin'

Day off! Brunching the sh*t out of Silverlake.

Corn chip party, everyone is invited.

Malo brunch is the bestest brunch

Brunch: like breakfast, but with beer and you get to sleep for an extra couple of hours

Moving on, cupcakes.

Cookie Cupcake

Red Velvet Cupcake

We also bought new tea towels, stopped for comics, then went home to sleep off brunch. Sunday win, even though it was early today it already seems like weeks ago.

Disnep Land

When I was a kid, I mistakenly took the DISNEY in the Disney logo to read DISNEP.
What kind of Y is that anyway?

When I was a kid I also dreamed of going to Disneyland, (I assumed adding this 'Y' was Walt Disnep's way of making his name cuter, like how Parkinson is Parkey). Unfortunately my dad won't holiday anywhere that isn't free, so my Disnep dreams remained just that.

Now I'm old enough to buy my own darn ticket, and within driving distance, we couldn't leave LA without giving old Disnep a visit.

We stayed at the Anaheim Hilton, which was by far the most swish hotel we've been to in a while. I have inherited my fathers cheapness, so staying at the Disneyland Resort was out of the question.

Top floor, monkey chillin' by the pool. (Still to cold to swim)

When we got there I was disappointed to see it was just a theme park. Also, the magic castle was a lot smaller than that Disnep logo would have you believe.

However, the mouse pancakes were made of win.

"Not that big"

Also, bares mentioning that I hate Disney movies. Except for the witches, anyway.

Colin on Mt. Splashmore or something

The Small world ride was less racist than other copies I'd been on before, but still slightly offensive and inaccurate. The giants of Easter Island were surrounded by Kangeroos and Koalas, not exactly right. Also, that song really grates on you after the 34th time of hearing it. The design was nice though.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing Michael Jackson in Captain EO 3D. We also looked cool while we watched it. Colin bought MJ's EO shirt. I learned that all the worlds turmoil can be solved with good dancing.

The absolute, unquestionable highlight of the day was the Star Wars "Star Tours" ride that opened on the day we were there. The wait for it was 7 hours at the start of the day, by the time we decided to ride it was 100 minutes. Waiting in line for 100 minutes is really, really shit.
The ride went for 2 mins, but it was well worth it. However, we didn't ride again.

Disneyland was a pretty alright. Basically just a lot of waiting in line for rides with the worst people, and overpriced theme park-quality food. Also, a lot of people telling us how magical our day was. The low point was waiting 40 minutes for an epically shit Roger Rabbit ride. The high point was that Micky Mouse Ice-cream that claimed to be 'premium' and was just that.

I've done it.
It is done.
Let's try not to do it again.*

The finest restaurant in towne...

Oh yeah, we have this blog.

When you're applying for jerbs and eating pizza a lot, you can sometimes forget to update. Let's fix that now.

GUESS WHERE WE WENT!?!
Hint:
My thanks to thee, fair Wench!

I don't say "the most awesome thing I ever did" that often... actually, I do. I say that all the time about everything, But this was up there.
Ye olde brew

More beer. This is perhaps why Medieval Times was so fun.

Ye olde flage

THE GREEN KNIGHT RULES! THE RED KNIGHT SUCKS THE BIG ONE!

Our knight looked like Hugh Jackman

SIIILENCE... OF THE LAAAAMBS

There were no forks and knives in medieval times, hence there are no forks and knives AT Medieval Times. I got quite sick after eating this.

Colin, however, remained un-affected by Chicken germs.

I give Medieval Times 80,000 stars out of 10.

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater

An adult alone at a puppet show is bound to look suspicious, but as Colin works pretty much every hour of the day forever I had no choice but to fly solo.

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is in downtown LA, and pretty much walking distance from my home. I went to see the show this morning with a whole bunch of five year olds and one strange 40 year old man (the only other adult weirdo there).

The music was dated and the puppets were noticeably ageing, but every five year old in the audience was captivated. Take that, parents groups who preach about how children can't enjoy old fashioned entertainment in a world of "dangerous video games".

I also enjoyed the show, but I didn't stay for the free ice-cream and neither did the creepy guy. I guess we both knew how we looked.

Art'n

Here are some snaps from some Art Gallery excursions we've taken. The Street Art exhibition was pretty much the best art show I've ever seen, and we left with a ton of cool ideas of stuff to do ourselves.

This is the best car. Ever.

String?

STRING!?!

Cosmic fun room! It was indeed fun.

That's us. Except the R bit.

What is this? London?

And of course, gratuitous food shot. Salted caramel pie.

Colin is shooting TV all day, then a rap video tonight. He's worked his way up to Camera which is just effing great. I'm waiting for a package today, stuck at home watching a lot of BEYOND BELIEF: FACT OR FICTION (hosted by Riker!). Not really blog worthy, I know.

This little guy should be showing up on my doorstep either today or tomorrow:
Bi-Winning.

Anyhoo, you asked for more blog action and here it is. Colin has wednesday off so I think it's time to finally hit up those Venice Beach Fish Taco's from "I Love You, Man". Stay tuned.

Over and out.
